Words from Murray
Boss ready for home friendlies
admin
ADAM Murray is itching to send his team out in front of Harriers fans at Aggborough in this week’s two home friendly matches.
The Reds meet Halesowen Town on Tuesday night (7pm) before hosting Solihull Moors in DY10 on Saturday (1pm).
These two outings come on the back of away wins at Droitwich, Worcester City and Stourbridge in pre-season, coupled with defeats at Swansea and Shrewsbury.
Games thus far have been accompanied by some long days at the boys on the grass at COSE and in the classroom studying – now the boss is ready to take things up a notch.
“We’ve had a really tough month,” he explained. “A lot of work’s gone in, a lot of analysis has gone in.
“I think the boys are getting to a point where they’re bored of being in the classroom and watching video, but it’s part of the process.
“To speed the process up, we’ve had to go kind of ultra-high on the workload in every area, so we’re all ready for action now.”
To Aggborough it is, then, as Harriers warm up for the big kick off against Scarborough Athletic on home soil on Saturday, 9th August.
Murray added: “We want the real thing, and I think the last two fixtures, especially being at home in front of our own fans and getting a bit of an atmosphere, makes it feel a little bit more real, and we’re all ready for that now.
“We want that first game, and like I say, these last two weeks now will be about fine-tuning and making sure coming into that first game of the season, everything’s nailed.
“So, we know the areas we need to work on and improve on. We know the areas where we feel strong, but overall, we’re in a good place.”
Tickets for both Halesowen and Solihull games are on sale now.
Season Tickets remain on sale and available for collection.
